Mike Lake is the founder of HinaTech LLC, with a technical journey that began in the late 80s. He started by operating BBS (bulletin-board systems), managing early Novell/DOS environments, and working hands-on during the rise of modern networking at a manufacturing plant. Over the decades, he has developed deep expertise in both Linux and Windows systems.
He holds a B.S. in Information Systems Security, and then went on to earn the CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) certification, reflecting his strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, ethical penetration testing, and defensive security practices.
Mike has led projects ranging from small business networks to security-focused and compliance-driven environments, including systems aligned with HIPAA, NERC, and FINRA requirements. His experience includes penetration testing, ransomware recovery and resilience planning, server rack redesigns and upgrades, server management, high-availability infrastructure deployments spanning cloud and on-prem ecosystems, and much more.
Practical, results-driven, and security-focused, Mike believes that technology should serve people, not complicate their lives. He brings clear communication, strong problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, a great sense of humor, and an ability to make an exceptional cocktail.
